Urban Style Wedding Network – Urban Meets Hamptons

We had a blast providing event video coverage for this fun San Diego business networking group under our sister video company Lloyd Films. Hidden away in the hills near Poway and Ramona is Mt. Woodson Castle, a beautiful and delightfully hand-crafted piece of early 20th century architecture, which seems hewn from the surrounding rock and trees. What a cool place to hold a business mixer.

Hop-Con 2013 – Stone Brewing Co.

What’s the best way to celebrate the annual migration of nerdom to San Diego that is Comicon..? Why it’s Beer of course! And not just any beer, but Stone Brewing Company beer. In honor of this auspicious occasion Stone Brewing Co. created a special beer called W00tStout made “from the most unlikely yet intensely imaginative trio that is actor and uber-geek champion Wil Wheaton, alternative news website Fark.com creator Drew Curtis and Stone CEO/Co-founder Greg Koch, comes an imperial stout unlike any ever made.” We were invited to provide video coverage of Tim Altbaum’s excellent DJ skills at the event. It was a w00t!

Business Networking Mixer Highlights

We totally enjoyed providing event video coverage for this fun business mixer in San Diego’s Gas Lamp Quarter for the Urban Style Wedding Network. Again filming under our sister event video company Lloyd Films we enjoyed great food, great people and a great atmosphere.

Technology Conference Video

Hard Rock Hotel San Diego Conference Video

The Hard Rock Hotel is definitely one of the cooler places to throw a technology conference. We had fun covering some of the sessions about “big data” and tag management.  Nerdy?  Yes.  But fascinating how far web development has come.

Message Systems Conference Highlights

We always love working with everyone over at Message Systems for their annual user conference at Paradise Point and this year was no exception. It’s equal parts user conference, trade show, convention and all around party. We put together this highlights reel for the final day of the convention.

Spy Optics Waffle Ride

The good folks at Spy Optics hosted a very fun to watch, painful to ride, 200 kilometer road race with 9000 feet of elevation gain and a lot of Belgian waffles. Starting in Carlsbad, Ca and then touring though Oceanside, Fallbrook, Rainbow and Escondido, the race took us through some of San Diego’s amazing hidden gems at an amazing clip, I might add. Those guys haul some serious booty on those bikes. It was a struggle to keep up with them in the car.  I have to say, the tiny, oak canopied roads that wind through the avocado groves of Rainbow and Valley Center are well worth a drive when you have a sunny Saturday to spare.  You can see some of the photos and video on Spy’s BWR Facebook Page We were lucky enough to be there for all the events with my good friend Adam Klarer from Visual Artists.  It brought back good memories from when we filmed the Tour of California Race.

David Kirkpatrick Interview

David Kirkpatrick Interview For Message Systems from Digital Design Factory on Vimeo.

One thing we love about our jobs is the serendipitous access to talented people, ideas and fascinating subject matter that comes from filming videos for all of our diverse clientelle. We really never know what we film next: underwater IMAX directors, medical researchers, athletes, and, yes, sometimes less glamorous subject matter like Insurance Seminars. Filming his keynote speech and interviewing technology journalist and author of The Facebook Effect David Kirkpatrick was one of the interesting ones. He gave a great keynote speech at Message Systems Interact Conference in San Diego and we caught up with him afterwords for an interview.
